FAQ

Q: Why would I buy a refurbished when I can buy a brand new one for nearly the same price at the big box store?
A: Just like buying a car, there are ones that cost $10,000 brand new and there are lease returns that are still of much higher value. The value of a laptop is not measured by its specs alone. Our refurbished laptops are business/professional class machines that cost well over a thousand dollars. You're only paying a fraction of the original price. Sure you can buy the new ones for nearly the same price but the quality of those machines cannot match those of business/professional class.

Q: Does this laptop come with warranty?
A: Most used computer store sell their laptops AS-IS. This means that after you pay, you own it. When receiving the laptop, any problem with the laptop is your own problem. Unless you are super technical savvy, cross your fingers and hope that nothing will go wrong. Make sure you buy one with warranty so that you know you're covered.

Q: Do you accept other payment methods other than PayPal?
A: Yes, we will consider Interac Email Money Transfer (EMT), postal money order, and wire transfer on request. However, we reserve the right to refuse sales at our own discretion.

Q: Wow... this is cheap. What's the catch?
A: Make sure you read the advertisement carefully and understand what you are getting. If you see the price is too good to be true, there's a good chance that there is something wrong with it. Either it's not functional or part of it does not work. Some even have missing parts or partially damaged. In worse cases, it is a stolen property that has tracking device built-in. Make sure you buy from a well established business.

Q: What is the condition of the laptop?
A: We sell only "A" grade corporate lease returns. Our laptops must go through a complete process of refurbishment. The end results are machines that work the way they do when they were new.

Q: Is there any software or operating system installed.
A: Yes, our laptops will come complete with recommended operating systems installed and support software as factory defaults. Additional software are added or can be added on request.

Q: Where does the laptop come from?
A:   All of our laptops came from corporate lease returns. We pick out the best looking ones, refine them, and remarket them. Most of them are in like new condition.

Q: Can I buy upgrade or additional accessories for this laptop?
A: Yes, you can definitely order additional upgrades and accessories that fit your needs. Just contact us for more details.

Q: What am I looking for in a laptop?
A: First, you have to ask yourself how much you can spend. If you are a serious user, you'll probably want something fast and a lot of memory. You will want to have the best video output and bigger screen if you play games or work with heavy graphic applications. If you use it mostly for downloading music and media files, you'll probably want a big hard drive and a burner. If you want to use it for watching movies then you'll need a DVD drive or combo drive... etc! Doesn't matter what you need, K-V Laptops always carry a wide range of laptops that'll fit your need and budget. Whatever you want... whatever your need, we'll do our best to accommodate your requests!

Q: Do I need a new laptop LCD screen if my LCD screen is dim? You may or may not need a new Laptop LCD screen if the Laptop LCD screen is dim. If your Laptop LCD screen is dim it may be as a result of either 1) a faulty backlight or 2) a faulty inverter. The backlight is basically the light bulb in the laptop LCD screen which as one would suspect has an average useful life. The inverter, though, is a separate piece from the Laptop LCD screen. The inverter essentially 1) takes the DC power which the laptop runs off of and converts it into AC power and 2) steps-up the voltage to light up the cold cathode fluorescent backlight.
